One of Our Longest Runs
At roughly 1,135 miles and about 17 hours of drive time on I-5, North Hollywood to Seattle is the second-longest of the ten long-distance routes we run, just behind Dallas. It’s a multi-day move by necessity, not by choice — no single crew can safely drive that far in one stretch, and we’re not interested in pretending otherwise.
How We Plan a Route This Long
Marcus Bell’s crew builds in a required overnight rest stop partway up I-5. Nairi Sarkisian tracks the pickup, the rest stop, and the delivery as one continuous window — the same discipline a freight dispatch board holds a long-haul driver to.
Who’s Making This Move
Seattle’s tech-sector job market is the reason we hear most often for this route — households relocating for work rather than retiring or downsizing.

North Hollywood → Seattle — Typical Cost By Home Size
| Home Size | Price Range | Estimated Transit Time |
|---|---|---|
| Studio / 1-bedroom loads | Smallest load for this route, priced after a walkthrough | Two-day delivery with one required rest stop |
| 2-3 bedroom homes | Full crew and truck, priced by weight and cube | Two-day delivery, typically one rest stop |
| 4+ bedroom / large households | Largest crew, sometimes a second truck, priced individually | Two to three days depending on load-out and stops |
Eddie builds these ranges off what an in-home walkthrough actually shows — room count, stairs, a piece or two that’s bigger than it looks — so the number reflects this load, not a generic size chart.
Moving North Hollywood to Seattle?
Before the truck leaves North Hollywood, Eddie works out the load plan for this specific run: what goes on first, what has to come off first once it reaches Seattle, and how access works at both ends of the trip
That planning matters more on a long haul than most movers let on — furniture that needs to come off first at the new place can’t be the first thing buried under everything else in the truck. Nairi locks in the crew once that plan is set, and Marcus runs the load on move day working from it instead of figuring it out in the driveway. The paperwork shifts the moment the truck leaves California, too — from there it’s our US DOT and MC authority covering the move, not our California DMV Household Goods Carrier permit.
