Below are the questions Nairi’s office fields most often — on pricing, booking, and how the tracked dispatch window actually works. Call (714) 241-2673 if yours isn’t covered.

Is Aliance Transportation Services a real moving company?
Yes — Aliance Transportation Services is a fully licensed and insured local moving company based in North Hollywood, CA. We run our own trucks and uniformed crews on every job, with California DMV and US DOT/MC authority on file.
How much does a move cost?
Local moves are hourly: $155/hr for a 2-mover crew, $195/hr for 3 movers, and $245/hr for 4 movers, plus a $200 refundable booking deposit that holds your date. Long-distance, piano, and commercial moves are quoted individually after Eddie walks the job — we don't flat-rate a move we haven't seen.
What is the "tracked dispatch window" you talk about?
It's the same discipline Armen Petrosyan used running a 40-truck freight fleet before he started this company: dispatch gives you a written arrival window before the truck leaves the yard, and your crew chief calls if traffic on the 101/170 or a prior job pushes it, instead of you calling us to ask where the truck is.
Do you pack, or do I need to do that myself?
Both — you can pack yourself, book full-service packing, or split the difference and have our crew handle the kitchen and closets while you keep the essentials boxed on your own. Full packing is usually scheduled the day before or the morning of your move.
How far ahead should I book?
Two to three weeks out is comfortable for most local moves, and 4-6 weeks for long-distance or peak-season dates like end-of-month or summer. That said, we run same-day and next-day moves regularly when a timeline collapses — call dispatch and ask what's open.
Can you move a piano or other heavy items?
Yes. Marcus and his crew bring different rigging for a piano than for a gun safe — the route through your home gets planned before anything moves. Tell dispatch about the item when you book so the right crew size and equipment show up.
What's your deposit and cancellation policy?
A $200 refundable deposit holds your date and crew size. Cancel or reschedule more than 48 hours before your move and the deposit is refunded in full; inside that window it covers the crew time we held for you.
Do you offer storage?
Yes, short-term storage in our own warehouse on Lankershim Blvd — not a subleased unit somewhere else in the Valley. It's useful for closing-date gaps or when a new place isn't ready yet.
Do I need to tip the movers?
Tipping isn't required, but it's appreciated and customary in the moving industry. Most customers tip $20-40 per mover for a half-day local job, more for a longer or physically tougher move — cash handed directly to the crew works best.
What areas do you serve?
North Hollywood is home base, and we run regular jobs in Valley Village, Studio City, Toluca Lake, Burbank, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, North Hills, Universal City, and Valley Glen, plus greater Los Angeles, Ventura, and Orange counties.
What insurance or valuation coverage is included?
Every move includes basic released-value protection at the federal standard of $0.60 per pound per article, at no extra cost. If you want a higher payout ceiling, ask Eddie about full-value protection at your walkthrough — our trucks carry up to $1 million in cargo coverage.
Do you handle long-distance moves?
Yes, on our own trucks with one crew and one dispatch window for the whole route — we don't hand your shipment off to a different carrier partway through. Popular routes out of North Hollywood include Las Vegas, San Francisco, San Diego, Phoenix, and Denver.
What are your hours?
The office is open Monday through Saturday, 7am to 6pm, with Sunday moves available by appointment. Call (714) 241-2673 or email [email protected].
Do you subcontract the work to other movers?
No. Every truck and every crew member on your job is ours — eleven trucks, twenty-one people on payroll, no subcontractors and no day-labor crews.
What Sets Aliance Transportation Services Apart Around North Hollywood

Here’s What Aliance Transportation Services Does Differently Than Most Movers Around North Hollywood

Permitted Through California’s DMV — Not Just A Line On The Website

Household movers working North Hollywood and the rest of the San Fernando Valley have to carry a Household Goods Carrier permit through the California DMV; Aliance Transportation Services keeps it current every year, no lapses. The moment a job crosses the state line toward Nevada, Arizona, or beyond, it’s US DOT and MC authority on file that’s covering the move instead.

You Pick Your Coverage Before The Truck Ever Loads

Basic released-value protection comes standard on every job at no cost. Ask Eddie about full-value coverage at your walkthrough if you'd rather have the higher payout ceiling You hear both options once, at the estimate — nobody's pitching an upgrade halfway down your stairwell with a dresser on their shoulder.

The Walkthrough Builds A Plan, Not Just A Price

Before Aliance Transportation Services existed, Armen spent six years dispatching a 40-truck regional freight fleet, holding drivers to a tracked ETA window on every single run. Eddie brings that same discipline to the in-home estimate — mapping furniture placement, load order, and building access ahead of time: elevator windows, stairwell turns, tight doorways all worked out in advance, so the crew walks in with a plan already set instead of working one out in the truck.

All Twenty-One Of Us Are On Payroll, Not A Rotating Bench

Twenty-one people are on payroll at Aliance Transportation Services, seventeen of them movers running eleven trucks — no day-labor crews brought in when a week gets busy, no subcontractors filling out a truck. Armen built it that way on purpose: a tracked window only holds up if the crew running it actually works for the company that set it.

Every Move Planned Before The First Box Does.

Furniture placement, load order, and building access get worked out at the walkthrough, before anyone touches a box on moving day. Armen Petrosyan started Aliance Transportation Services in 2011 after six years dispatching a 40-truck regional freight fleet, and built that same tracked-window discipline into every household move instead of leaving the schedule to a guess.
